As products and knowledge transition from basic research and preclinical models into clinical research, researchers face significant barriers posed by human studies. There's a disconnect between models, and a switch in approach and thinking. The result is a failure rate that sees previously promising agents and approaches discarded.
Tim Sargeant (Lysosomal Health in Ageing) and Deb White (Precision Cancer Medicine) will present their own work which made the transition from basic to clinical research, and the trials and tribulations along the way. This warts-and-all session will expose the unique challenges, roadblocks, failures, and successes.
