Omega-3 fats to reduce the incidence of prematurity - The ORIP Trial

Dataset

Description

This dataset includes 5517 women who had a singleton or multiple pregnancy, and less than 20 weeks' gestation were recruited in this trial. The women were randomly assigned, with the use of a Web-based randomization service, to receive either n−3 long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acid capsules (n−3 group) or vegetable-oil capsules (control group). Baseline clinical and sociodemographic characteristics of the participants were assessed, and a blood spot sample for fatty acid analysis was collected at the end of the 34 weeks' gestation. The primary outcome was early preterm delivery, defined as delivery before 34 completed weeks of gestation.
