Carina Herde is currently a research scientist at SAHMRI-PIRL, Gilles Plains, where she assists with preclinical studies for both research and commercial clients. She has extensive experience with small animal research and is involved with all aspects of day-to-day experimentation, including sampling and processing, analyses, animal handling, quality assurance, and administration. In her previous role, she managed various services for researchers, including a service for genotyping genetically modified mouse strains and polyclonal antibody production service. 

 

Before that, Carina worked as a research assistant, investigating the effects of metallothionein and prenatal dietary zinc supplementation on the development of fetal alcohol-related disorders, including fetal alcohol syndrome.
