Dr Jyoti Khadka is a research fellow in the Registry of Senior Australians at South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute. Dr Khadka was originally trained as an optometrist. He was awarded a PhD in patient-reported outcome measure in pediatric visual impairment from Cardiff University in the UK, followed by a Post-doctoral fellowship at Flinders University in Australia.  His main areas of research interests and expertise are in healthy ageing, patient-reported outcomes, health economics, health services outcomes and the application of modern psychometric methods, including item response theory (IRT) and Rasch analysis, to develop, validate and implement quality of life instruments.  He has published over 60 peer reviewed research articles in  quality of life, patient-reported outcomes, ageing & age care, health economics and heallth service outcomes.
