Kate is a Senior Project Officer working in the Aboriginal Chronic Disease Consortium team within the Health Systems Platform. Kate has a background in nursing having completed a Master of Nursing and a Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education. Over her career she has worked predominantly in the area of chronic disease commencing first in renal nursing, followed by a number of years working as a credentialled diabetes educator at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Royal Adelaide Hospital Diabetes Centres, and later as a Clinical Practice Consultant with Diabetes Outreach, Country Health SA. It was here where Kate’s passion for health professional education and project work grew, leading to a Nurse Educator role within the Child and Family Health Service and the completion of a Diploma in Project Management.  Her current role focuses on the implementation of the Aboriginal Chronic Disease Consortium strategic plans with  a particular focus on diabetes.
