Kelly Skelton holds the position of Registry Project Manager for the Australian Particle Therapy Clinical Quality Registry (ASPIRE) at the Australian Bragg Centre for Proton Therapy and Research (ABCPTR). She is also appointed Project Manager of the Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical school based Paediatric Proton Photon Consortium Registry (PPCR) in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

A PhD candidate at UniSA, she is exploring the development and pilot of a national late effects program for the ABCPTR, collecting evidence on the long-term outcomes of proton versus photon radiation therapy in cancer survivors. With over 15 years’ experience in radiation oncology nursing and a Master’s in Cancer Sciences and Research, Kelly brings a wealth of expertise to her roles.

Previously, she held positions as a Research Nurse and Data Manager for the Youth Cancer Service SA/NT. Kelly has a strong background in data management and registries and has previously been recognised for her outstanding clinical practice, receiving a SA Health Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Award.

Kelly emphasizes the importance of big data collection and underscores the significance of quality of life in survivorship and equity of access to cutting-edge treatments like proton therapy, especially within the paediatric and adolescent young adult cohort of cancer patients.
