A/Prof Kim Morey is Anmatyerre / Eastern Arrernte descent with family connections to Central Australia, with over 25 years of experience in Aboriginal health and community services, across policy, planning, service development, monitoring and systems performance, including 10 years in Aboriginal health research.
A/Prof Morey is Co-Theme Leader of the Wardliparingga Aboriginal Health Equity Theme at SAHMRI and Adjunct Associate Professor (Level D) with the School of Public Health at the University of Adelaide.
A/Prof Morey is recognised as a national leader in health systems research, focusing on improving models of care to drive better patient outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living with chronic disease in South Australia. She leads a highly translational research program that works in close partnership with service providers, government policy makers and Aboriginal communities across South Australia and nationally.
Her leadership role in the SA Aboriginal Chronic Disease Consortium has generated evidence to inform new Aboriginal workforce models, protocols for training health professionals, and government funding, combined with improved partnerships, relationships, and shared priorities across health system, including ACCHOs.
