Dr Grundy is an emerging leader in the field of Neurourology, having established an internationally recognised research program identifying the functional classes of afferents that innervate the bladder, and the channels and receptors underlying their function in health and chronic pain states. His research focuses on understanding the mechanisms that regulate sensory neurons that provide sensations from the bladder and the bacteria that cause urinary tract infections. Dr Grundy has a proven track record, with high impact publications in journals such as Nature, Pain, JCI insight, Scientific Reports, and the American Journal of Physiology. He also has invited reviews published in Annual Reviews of Physiology, American Journal of Phsyiology, and Frontiers in Autonomic Neuroscience.
