Makoto obtained his BSc (Hons) from the University of Adelaide. He then obtained his PhD from the Australian National University. After completing his postdoctoral trainings in the US and in New Zealand, he returned to Adelaide to join HCN in 2010. He has been involved in early childhood neurological disorder research. He has been managing SAHMRI light microscopy core facility since 2014.

Research Interests

Answering biological questions through the use of microscopy and the informatics methods.
