Matthew is a research assitant and project co-ordinator at the SAHMRI Mental Health and Wellbeing program with a background in Health Science and Neuroscience. His major focus is on translational research that converts academic knowledge into real world application. Matthew's particular interest is understanding the relationship between mental illness and mental health, and investigating how this understanding could transform the way that interventions are designed to promote mental health and prevent and treat mental illness. 

Matthew has presented his research at the national and international level, with submissions to the International Wellbeing and Public Policy Conference, Positive Education Schools Association National Conference, and the European Positive Psychology Conference. Matthew has also provided peer review for the International Journal of Wellbeing.
