Dr Miriam Keane is the Executive Director of the Australian Corneal Graft Registry (ACGR). She commenced working with the ACGR as a statistician in 2008, and joined the management team in 2017. Her background is in psychology and her PhD looked at innequalities in access to primary mental health care accross South Australia. Since shifting her focus to ophthalmology, she has contributed to research on a variety of ophthalmic conditions including glaucoma, retinopathy of prematurity, and optic neuritis, as well as her primary area of expertise, corneal transplantation.
