Dr Rebecca Munt is a Registered Nurse and a Senior Research Fellow in Wardliparingga Aboriginal Health Equity in SAHMRI. Rebecca is currently working on the Aboriginal Diabetes Workforce project, led by Professor Odette Pearson, and the COVID 19 community experience project.
Rebecca has undertaken a number of research projects in the area of diabetes and disseminated the research findings at local, national and international conferences as well as through publishing the research in a variety of journals. Her PhD explored the self-management experiences of people living with type 1 diabetes while in hospital. Rebecca was the Principal Investigator for the South Australia Inpatinet Diabetes Survey and a current SA lead for the AusNaDIA study.
Rebecca’s previous experience includes a Nurse Researcher joint appointment with CALHN and the University of Adelaide, 14 years of teaching and coordinating various topics in both undergraduate and post graduate nursing (predominately diabetes management and education specialisation) at Flinders University. Rebecca has also supervised mentoring, Honours, Masters and PhD students. Prior to moving to tertiary education Rebecca was a Clinical Nurse in the High Dependency Unit at Ashford Hospital, worked agency in London and has worked agency in Adelaide, predominately in Intensive care units.
