Sue worked in research laboratories (CSIRO, IMVS) as an Animal and Research Assistant before taking up positions in research and diagnostic pathology laboratories (endocrine, metabolic research, clinical pathology and haematology). Sue has a BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology, and a PhD (thesis title "Pharmaology of 6 beta-naltrexol, the major human metabolite of naltrexone").
Sue transferred to what are now the Preclinical, Imaging and Research Laboratories (PIRL) of SAHMRI in 2003 and is now the Manager of the site.
Sue is an internal Quality Auditor at SAHMRI, and participates in Animal Ethics Committee Reviews as a Reviewer.
