Quality and Outcomes of Acute and Long Term Care of Indigenous People with Acute Coronary Syndromes: Data from the Central Australian Secondary Prevention of Acute Coronary Syndromes [CASPA] Study

Despite the importance of delivering evidence-based care to those with vascular disease, and the enormous disparity in CHD experienced by Indigenous Australians, little is known about the contribution of quality of care to adverse outcomes amongst this vulnerable group. The CASPA study is the first assessment of the quality and outcomes for Indigenous Australians suffering an acute coronary event, from onset through to secondary prevention in the primary care setting. The CASPA Study aims to record the burden, predictors, and patterns of ACS amongst Indigenous people, quality and outcomes of care across a range of urban and rural settings in the NT.
